2000 U.S. Soldiers Have Died in Iraq

Join us to say that the war must end, the troops must come home, U.S. bases in Iraq must be closed, and we must redirect our resources to rebuild Iraq and hurricane shattered communities in the U.S. There will be candlelight vigils, direct action, and memorial services in more than 400 communitites across the U.S.

You may think that we are in too deep to get out now, that we need to see this through to the end. This is not the case. It is the continued presence of U.S. troops that is feeding the hatred of the insurgents in Iraq. President Bush needs to humble himself, go before the United Nations and ask them to take a multinational peacekeeping team into Iraq.

THE WAR IN IRAQ CAN AND SHOULD END NOW!

Tomorrow - Wednesday, October 26 - will be the day people across the country will join together in "Not One More Death, Not One More Dollar" events.Tomorrow, thousands of us will gather to remember the U.S. dead and as many as 100,000 Iraqis who have died as a result of this war.

If you are a Christian pray for the transformation of our country. As Paul said in his letter to the Ephesians, chapter six, verse twelve, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." People are not the enemy, Satan is. Therefore waging war against people is never the answer. We must pray that God will fight whatever battles need to be fought. For only through Him can true victory come.
