Are You a Christian or Just Part of the Christian Subculture? Pt. 1
SIGNS THAT YOU MAY BE
PART OF THE
CHRISTIAN SUBCULTURE
- you have lots of Christian themed jewelry, t-shirts, stationery, knick knacks, bumper stickers, etc.
- you shop at Christian bookstores more than once a month
- you listen almost exclusively to Christian radio stations, watch Christian television programming, etc.
- you complain about how trashy network television is, but continue to watch it
- you talk about your religion or church a lot but don't participate in any active ministry
- you pray more 'help me' prayers than 'change me' prayers
- you claim to follow Jesus, the Prince of Peace, but support war
- you claim to follow Jesus but don't do anything to help the poor
- you claim to follow Jesus but are unable to love your enemies, or anyone who is different from you
- you claim to follow Jesus but criticize people who actually are following Jesus
- you claim to follow Jesus - but don't

II Corinthians 13:5 tells us to "test" our faith --but does not tell us the test.
the Bible gives 6 or 7 differences between a believer and an unbeliever. see Romans 8:5-16 a different mind, a different will, a different power over sin, a different leading --(I cor 2:12, 14 from the word of God, hebrews 12:8 from discipline, Matthew 21:21 from the Holy Spirit in prayer) a different sense of adoption (knowing that you know God)
i believe we are unfair to new members of our church or faith if someone of the same gender does not walk them through these changes and enable them to biblically examine their faith.
I've seen long term members of the xtian culture get saved after such an examination. sometimes it takes 20 minutes to walk someone through this --sometimes 20 weeks.

Yeah, and if things were your way the whole world be speaking German and the Jews would be wiped off the earth. No one ever asks for war and no one likes war. War is hell, but some times they just have to be fought. No one ever said it is pretty. Some times greater evil comes by sitting here and doing nothing about it.
